Balanced Islamic knowledge is among the most essential necessities for every individual Muslim in their life, and it’s crucial for the entire Muslim community in its civilizational journey. Through authentic knowledge derived from the Quran and Sunnah, the nation ascends from the darkness of ignorance to the heights of glory and steadfastness. It’s the optimal path to discerning the truth, following the path of moderation and righteousness, and it’s the way to paradise. Hence, the Quranic texts emphasize the significance of elevating the status of those who possess knowledge.

{Allah bears witness that Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice}

Surat Aal-Imran: 18.

Ash-Shawkani (may Allah have mercy on him) explained: The knowledgeable ones mentioned here are the scholars of the Quran and Sunnah.

{And say, ‘My Lord, increase me in knowledge.’}

Surat Ta-Ha: 114.

And in the hadith: Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him.

Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: By knowledge, it refers to Sharia knowledge, which entails understanding what is obligatory upon the accountable individual in terms of their religious duties, worship, transactions, knowledge of Allah and His attributes, and what is obligatory towards Him, including fulfilling His commands and exalting Him from deficiencies.
