Curriculum
The Prophet ﷺ emphasized the significance of seeking knowledge when he said: ‘Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim’ (Sunan ibn Majah). Inspired by this obligation, we established Alhijra Academy with the belief that every Muslim should have access to authentic and essential Islamic knowledge. At Alhijra Academy, we understand that seeking Islamic knowledge can be challenging for many due to various limitations, such as a lack of access to qualified scholars, time constraints and geographical barriers. With our online educational platform, we aim to remove these barriers and provide an engaging learning experience that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. We consider seeking Islamic knowledge not only an obligation but a privilege as well. It is a journey that is both rewarding and enriching, and we feel honoured to be a part of that journey for Muslims worldwide.
First Semester
In the first semester, seven core subjects are studied within a set time period.
Aqeedah
Meaning and importance of aqeedah, causes of deviation from it and means of prevention. Tawhid: definition, status, impact, pillars, and types. Tawhid ar-rububiyah and its effects on eeman. Evidence of the existence of Allah outside of religious texts.
Seerah
The importance and significance of the Prophet's ﷺ biography, his ﷺ lineage, birth, and upbringing. The Makkan period from the beginning of his mission to the migration. The Madinan period, the expeditions, the conquest of Makkah, his Hajj and umrahs.
Fiqh
Book of purification and water, menstruation, and postnatal bleeding. Book of prayer.
Tafsir
Tafsir of: Surat Al-Fatihah, Ayat Al-Kursi, and concluding verses of Surat al-Baqarah.
Hadith
Explanation and interpretation of 21 noble hadiths from the authentic prophetic traditions.
Tarbiyah Islamiyah
The rights of Allah, the Prophet ﷺ, companions, scholars, parents, children, spouses, blood relatives, neighbours, guests, hosts, and the rights of those in authority and their subjects.
Arabic Language
An introduction to grammar: definition, foundation, origin, and importance. Parts of speech: noun, verb, particle. Sentence structure; parsing and construction. Dual form, plural of masculine nouns, broken plural, the five nouns, the five verbs, feminine form.
Second Semester
In the second semester, seven core subjects are studied within a set time period.
Third Semester
In the third semester, seven core subjects are studied within a set time period.
Fourth Semester
In the fourth semester, seven core subjects are studied within a set time period.
Alhijra Academy Graduation
Upon successful completion of all four semesters, you will graduate from Alhijra Academy and be awarded a Certificate of Completion. This certificate serves as a recognition of your dedication, commitment, and academic achievement throughout the program.
